A Community with One Goal

Pelotonia is a community with one goal: ending cancer.

Founded in 2008, Pelotonia brings together thousands of riders, volunteers, and donors who believe we can create a world without cancer. The name combines "peloton" (the main group of riders in a bike race) with "ton" (meaning strength in numbers).

Our Impact

Since 2009, Pelotonia has raised more than $309 million for cancer research! In 2024 alone, our community raised over $26.2 million.

Why does this matter? Every dollar raised by participants goes directly (100%) to cancer research at The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center – Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital and Richard J. Solove Research Institute.

2025 Theme: Together as One

This year's theme celebrates the power of community. When we ride together, rally together, and fundraise together, our impact grows beyond what any of us could do alone.

"Philanthropy has never been more critical. Breakthroughs in cancer treatments and prevention continue to happen because of researchers with brilliant ideas and communities willing to support these audacious goals."

– Joe Apgar, Pelotonia CEO

New Home for Pelotonia

In 2025, Pelotonia moved to a new headquarters in The Ohio State University's innovation district. Our new office is right next door to the Pelotonia Research Center—named to honor our organization's impact on cancer research.

This physical connection between Pelotonia and the researchers they support symbolizes the direct link between community fundraising and life-saving science.
